We have huge news to share: thanks to the generosity of our community, we're building a bathroom facility on the farm!
We broke ground on the building in May, right next to the southeast corner of the barn. The bathroom facility will include a men's restroom, women's restroom, boot washing station, and a "utility" room featuring a commercial dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer.
As our port-a-potty era comes to an end, we're so excited for the new restroom, and for the increased accessibility, hygiene, and comfort that it will bring to our community when they visit the farm. Port-a-potties are often an uncomfortable experience, even for individuals without disabilities. But for those with mobility issues, sensory issues, or other disabilities - they present a significant challenge.
In addition, we are excited for the increased functionality that the utility room will bring to our farm, allowing us to perform tasks on-site that previously had to be outsourced, including laundering rags, rain gear, and gloves, and washing dishes used during our many events.
Huge thanks to Case IH, the BIA, Herdina Camp, the State of Minnesota, and many more organizations for making this project possible - we truly could not do it without you!
